Domestic Violence Awareness for Onsite Teams
Event Details
This educational session is designed to provide on-site property management teams with foundational awareness and practical guidance around domestic violence. Property staff are often a first point of contact when residents are experiencing unsafe or crisis situations, and knowing how to respond appropriately, compassionately, and safely is critical.
This training is focused on awareness and preparedness and is intended to help teams feel more confident, informed, and aligned when navigating these sensitive situations.
The session will be led by Muriel M. Nolen, JD, MS, Executive Director of the Shelby County Crime Victims & Rape Crisis Center, a division of Shelby County Community Services. Ms. Nolen brings extensive experience in victim advocacy, legal proceedings, and community education, and currently leads countywide efforts to support survivors of crime, including expanded domestic violence services. The Crime Victims & Rape Crisis Center provides free, confidential support, education, and resources to individuals impacted by crime across Shelby County.
Even as a general awareness-style training, this session offers valuable insight and practical takeaways that can help property teams respond with care, professionalism, and appropriate boundaries—while ensuring residents are guided toward the help they need.
This class is being offered for free to AAGM member onsite teams. Space is limited.
